Hijacking

Have you ever executed an idea that you hadn't thought through properly?
I once stood in a bucket and tried to lift myself up. It didn't go well.
Another time I took my new camera to photograph my daughter riding a horse. When I looked at the pictures later I had 36 photos of my eyeball.
Drilling a hole in a piece of wood I was holding in my hand was something else I hadn't thought through awfully well. I've still got the scar.
This week an Ethiopian co-pilot hijacked his own plane and diverted it to Switzerland in a bid to gain asylum.
He was arrested.
If he had landed the plane in Italy where it was headed. he could have walked out of the airport and found asylum without being charged with a crime.
In the Bible in the book of Ephesians we read about an idea God had."Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.  God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure."
The consequences of that idea would cost God his son but it was a plan that he had thought through and it went exactly to plan.
You can hijack God's plan and get off at a destination which will dash your hope of a safe haven or you can stay on board with his plan and finish up eternally safe.
May I suggest that it's a good thing to think that through before you do something you'll regret.
