What it says on the tin

I don't think this constitutes 'flawlessly straight', by anybody's standards.
People don't say what they mean any more. "Sorry for your wait" is rarely true and when you jokingly say "So am I, but I will insist on eating cake," shop assistants have no idea how to respond.
"Your call is important to us, please continue to hold" is another phrase I seriously doubt the veracity of.
So when I read in the book of Isaiah

                                                        I am mightily glad that God said exactly what He                                                                                     meant and did exactly what he said.
